There are many considerations when writing a CV and there are many resources with a vast amount of information available both in books and online. On one hand this is great if you are writing a CV but on the other it can be quite confusing. This confusion is highlighted by the CV myths I hear from client’s everyday.
CV – Focus on the audience
This is perhaps the most important consideration. You need to understand the employer or recruiter. When you understand what they want you can focus your marketing document. You will find many posts on this site about how to understand the employer and define what it is they are seeking.
CV Format & CV Layout
When you know what the potential employer wants the next consideration is CV Format and CV Layout. There is much you can do here but my philosophy is “Keep it Simple”. Read a wide range of excellent posts on this site.
